Daily Post have mentioned our upcoming Preview Evening and exhibition:
August 3rd will see the start of a brand new exhibition at Oriel Scala, where will be proudly displaying an exciting mixture of work by recent graduates from Coleg Llandrillo and Glyndwr University, alongside work from our team of professional member artists. The aim of this event is to provide a launchpad for the Students future careers within the Art World as Professional Artists! We are honoured to of secured the presence of Oriel Mostyn Director Martin Barlow, successful established artist and RCA Sonja Benskin Mesher, and Cllr. John Bellis Chair of Llandrillo Corporation Board, to speak at the event and welcome the students and their work. If you are unable to join us on this exciting preview night, at 6.30pm at Oriel Scala, the exhibition will be open until Tuesday August 31st, Mondays to Saturdays 10.ooam – 5.00pm.

Our very own Chris Baker has just won the Denbighshire Arts Society Rose Bowl for the Best Picture in the Annual Summer Exhibition 2010. It was presented to her by Martin Barlow – Director of Oriel Mostyn. The Prize was judged by local artists Arthur Flay and Noel McCready. Chris’s prize winning paintings can be seen until 8th August at The Studio, Penrhos Road, Colwyn Bay!
Both Simon Shaw and Wayne Clark will be exhibiting at Potfest in the Park, Penrith, between 30th August and 1st July. This is one of the more prestigious ceramics events in the Uk. More information can be found on the Potfest website: www.potfest.co.uk
