JOHN DAVIES
John Davies started carving birds in
wood after seeing a table full of them
in a street fair in Michigan in 1974.
Since then, contact with bird carvers
in Washington and Utah during yearlong visits has proved influential.
He has sold his work at a variety of
galleries; exposure at the National
Exhibition of Wildlife Art proved helpful.
He often chooses shorebirds as
subjects and spend hours searching
the banks of the River Clwyd for driftwood which makes ideal settings for his birds.
