MARGARET SALISBURY

Margaret Salisbury FRPS – MFIAP – APAGB. Pictorial Photographer.

Known in Photography as “The Welsh Dragon” because of her dragon signature on the back of her images, Margaret started photography at Prestatyn Adult Centre in 1973, and went to teach photography in Prestatyn and Rhyl Education Centre for 23 years. Awarded 3 fellowships, 2 with the Royal Photographers Society and 1 with the Irish Photographic Federation. In 2009 Margaret gained the rarely awarded “Master Artist of International Federation of Photographic Art”. A member of the London Salon of Photography, she was the first woman to hold the position of Chairperson in the L.S’s 100 year history. Margaret lectures and judges throughout the UK and serves on the SWPP [Society of Wedding Portrait Photographers] distinctions panel and chairs the DPS [Disabled Photographic Society] distinctions panel.  Her images are held in several permanent collections and have been accepted in International Exhibitions, Her images have been touring Australia for the past 10 years. In 2009 an exhibition of her work was held at the headquarters of the Royal Photographic Society.
